FeaturedAbout Company
Swisscontact is a leading organisation in the implementation of international development projects. It
promotes inclusive economic, social, and ecological development to make an effective contribution towards
sustainable and widespread prosperity in developing and emerging economies Swisscontact designs and
implements projects to support rural producers and SMEs generate income and jobs and improve the
business environment through developing skills, market access opportunities, diversified markets, and access
to finance.
Swisscontact is preparing to design a programme in Armenia that will achieve these aims through supporting
SMEs and producers in selected value chains through a market-based approach.
Our development programme is the centrepiece of Swisscontact. It encompasses about 30 projects in over 20 countries. In the development programme we test new ideas and further develop existing innovations that have been proven effective over time. We link Swiss and international actors from the public and private sector as well as academia. In this way the programme supports cross-sectoral approaches and cooperation.
Within the development programme, similar approaches are implemented in various countries. Project teams develop successful solutions, methods, and innovations through regular exchange and adapt these to the local context. Thus, we are implementing global best practices on the local level, comparing solutions in different country contexts and developing them further.
We implement our projects in adherence to four clearly defined work principles. The UN’s Agenda 2030 encompasses 17 development goals, none of which can be achieved without inclusive development.
